The story of Live Softly

Elise Slater was a fashion branding expert in Sydney before embarking on an adventure in India and Nepal that changed her life.  While on a retreat, she came across the Buddhist philosophy “Live softly” – meaning to tread as lightly on this earth as possible.

She returned to Australia determined to help a local Nepalese craft group who made traditional felt.  They employed those who were affected by leprosy, rescuing them from a life of being outcasts.

The group now make a range of colourful fair trade felt cases for laptops, glasses and cables using what Elise calls a “happy-to-happy” business model.
